If, like me, you have friends and family who are still thinking about casting their ballots for Donald Trump, here’s some fuel for thought that may help you persuade them to think again.

There has never been a major-party presidential candidate like Donald Trump. He had more than a year to prepare for this race but has proven, time and again, his utter ignorance of the U.S. Constitution, our system of government and America’s role in the world.

He lacks self-discipline and runs at the mouth on matters about which he knows nothing—NATO, nuclear arms, the Middle East and so much more.

He has expressed contempt for Mexicans, Muslims, and people with disabilities.

As a “businessman,” he screwed: 1) contractors and workers who built his buildings, 2) investors in his corporations, and 3) students at the so-called Trump University, among others.

He has revealed himself a predator of women.

If the above is not enough, point them to conservative columnists who, though rabidly anti-Clinton, have decided they cannot in conscience support Trump.

Take Peggy Noonan, onetime speechwriter for Ronald Reagan and columnist for the Wall Street Journal. In a recent column, “Imagine a Sane Donald Trump,” she wrote:

Look, he’s a nut and you know he’s a nut. I go to battleground states and talk to anyone, everyone. They all know Donald Trump’s a nut. Some will vote for him anyway. Many are in madman-versus-criminal mode, living with (or making) their final decision. They got the blues. Everyone does. They’re worried about the whole edifice: If this is where we are, where are we going? … Since I am more in accord with Mr. Trump’s stands than not, I am particularly sorry that as an individual human being he’s a nut. Which gives rise to a question, for me a poignant one. What if there had been a Sane Donald Trump?

She proceeds to answer her own question, imagining the potential advantages Trump squandered, but then concludes: “Sane Donald Trump for President. Too bad he doesn’t exist.”

In an op-ed for the Washington Post, Charles Krauthammer lamented:

I didn’t need the Wiki files to oppose Hillary Clinton. As a conservative, I have long disagreed with her worldview and the policies that flow from it. As for character, I have watched her long enough to find her deeply flawed, to the point of unfitness. But for those heretofore unpersuaded, the recent disclosures should close the case. A case so strong that, against any of a dozen possible GOP candidates, voting for her opponent would be a no-brainer. Against Donald Trump, however, it’s a dilemma. I will not vote for Hillary Clinton. But, as I’ve explained in these columns, I could never vote for Donald Trump.

If the above does not help you convince family and friends of the danger of Trump in the White House, then at least make sure you get to the polls on November 8.
