Former Subway Pitchman Jared Fogle's Shocking Audio Tapes Revealed

Jared Fogle, 38, who gained notoriety as a Subway pitchman after losing weight eating at the restaurant chain, made headlines again earlier this year when he was arrested and agreed to plead guilty to traveling to engage in paid sex with minors and distribution and receipt of child pornography. Now, for the first time, former journalist Rochelle Herman-Walrond reveals shocking audio recordings exposing Fogle as a child predator.

Herman-Walrond says she first met Fogle in 2006 when he was a guest on her local Florida radio show, and she immediately became concerned when he mentioned that he found middle school girls attractive. She says that following her journalist instinct, she started a friendship with Fogle to dig deeper, and she claims he continued to make comments about his sexual interest in children. Alarmed, she says she contacted the FBI and spent five years “role playing” and secretly recording conversations with Fogle to use as evidence against him.

In the audio clips, Fogle asks Herman-Walrond, “Are there any of your kids’ friends that you think are pretty hot?” And on another occasion can be heard asking her, “What if we put a camera in your kids’ room? Would they be OK with that?”

Herman-Walrond says the phone conversations with Fogle would make her physically ill, and claims the experience affected her family and gave her nightmares. “Jared Fogle is a monster,” she says, explaining that she had to “embrace an imaginary person” and become “two separate people” in order to continue with the investigation.

Fogle, a father of two, is scheduled for sentencing November 19, and prosecutors are seeking a sentence of between 5-12 years in prison.

More audio recordings, including Fogle talking about flying to an undisclosed location to have sex with a minor and his discussions about attending a children’s party to target potential victims, will be heard for the first time in a special two-part Dr. Phil airing Thursday and Friday, October 29 and 30. Update: On November 19, 2015 Jared Fogle was sentenced to 15 years, eight months in federal prison.
