Fox News' Liz Trotta: Trayvon Martin Coverage 'Has Been Like Watching Sausage [Being] Made' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Liz Trotta Attacks NBC News Over Trayvon Martin Coverage

Fox News contributor Liz Trotta criticized what she called the media's biased coverage of the Trayvon Martin tragedy.

Martin, a Florida teenager, was shot to death by a self-appointed neighborhood watch volunteer last month. News of his death sparked outrage when it was learned that George Zimmerman, the man who shot Martin, was not arrested nor thoroughly investigated following his actions. Martin's family and activists have called for Zimmerman's arrest, claiming that Martin was a victim of racial profiling. Zimmerman said he shot Martin in an act of self defense.

The news coverage of Martin's case has been criticized by conservative pundits, including Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham who attacked the media for unjustly trying Zimmerman in the court of public opinion and rushing to judgement.

Trotta piled on and criticized NBC News, MSNBC and New York Times columnist Charles Blow. She called MNSBC "the worst offender" of biased coverage and referred to Blow as a "sob sister columnist."

"Watching the coverage this past week has been like watching sausage made," Trotta said. "The old line about that you'd never want to eat it if you did see it. We watched the covering of a story unfold and it was ugly to watch for its latent bias and practical conviction of George Zimmerman."

Trotta also attacked a segment produced for NBC's "Rock Center with Brian Williams" where African American staffers including Lester Holt and Tamron Hall shared deeply personal reactions to Martin's death. Trotta called the segment biased and unfair. "Where's the objectivity in this and why do you involve your black reporters and anchors?" Trotta wondered. She said that sharing their personal stories "can only hurt their credibility."
