Glenn Beck Hires White House Reporter

Glenn Beck announced Monday that the Blaze has hired Fred Lucas as its White House correspondent and Sara Carter as senior Washington correspondent.

Lucas began his new role on Thursday. He previously served as White House correspondent at CNSNews.com, and has also contributed to the Weekly Standard, the American Spectator and Townhall Magazine.

Carter has covered national security and immigration for the Washington Examiner and the Washington Times, among other news outlets.

"Fred and Sara are widely respected journalists and excellent additions to our growing team," Blaze president Joel Cheatwood said in a statement on Monday. "Their joining TheBlaze is a strong and bold step in the continued expansion of our original reporting."

Beck said on Monday that the new hires marked the establishment of the Blaze's bureau in Washington, D.C. "I don't know how many times the guy from the Blaze is gonna be called on," the host joked.
