Freddie Prinze Jr. Joins NBC Comedy Pilot And More Casting News

Freddie Prinze Jr. Heads To TV

Freddie Prinze Jr. has joined the cast of "Community" writer Hilary Winston's untitled new pilot. According to TVLine, the actor will play ex-fiance to Agnes, played by "7th Heaven" star's Sarah Wright. After being dumped by Prinze Jr.'s character, Agnes' coworkers (Mena Suvari, Aubrey Dollar, and Kyle Howard) help her shake off her shy nature and plot revenge. It was also recently announced that"Growing Pains" star Joanna Kerns will also appear in the untitled sitcom pilot.

This is the first time Prinze Jr. has made a splash in the TV world since 2010's "24" and ABC's "Freddie."

In other casting news...

"CSI" vet William Petersen is set to star in and executive produce "Hurt People." Petersen will play a veteran hitman who works for the crime family responsible for killing his wife in the drama. [TVLine]

"Three Musketeers" actor Carsten Norgaard will be a recurring guest star on "Luck."
Norgaard has been cast as Oleg, a powerful Russian businessman in Season 2 of HBO's horse racing drama. [THR]

Katlin Mastandrea joins Charlie Sheen's "Anger Management."
Mastandrea will play Olivia, a self-confident nerd and Charlie's 13-year-old daughter Emma's best friend. [THR]

"CSI" Miami star Khandi Alexander will guest star on USA's "Common Law."
Alexander is set to appear as the long-suffering wife to Captain Mike Sutton (Jack McGee) in the freshman dramedy. [TV Guide]
"Vampire Diaries" actor Matt Davis is heading to The CW's "Cult" pilot. Davis is on his way to another CW drama as a journalist blogger who gets together with a young production assistant (Jessica Lucas) to work on the TV show "Cult." [TVLine]
"Make It Or Break It" actor Neil Jackson will co-star in NBC's soap pilot "Notorious." Jackson will play the womanizing Julian Lawson in the murder mystery soap opera alongside the yet-to-be-cast female detective lead. [TVLine]
Australian and British actors Todd Lassance and Simon Merrells are joining "Spartacus." In Season 3 of the Starz drama, Lassance will play young Julius Caesar and Merrells will appear as Crassus, the richest man in Rome. [EW
"Hart Of Dixie" actor Gary Cole is heading to ABC's "Scruples."
Cole will play a manipulative lawyer in the drama based on Judith Krantz's novel, which, it was recently revealed, will star Chad Michael Murray. [TVLine]
