"Freedom Isn't Free": A Loving Playlist for the American Heroes of "South Park"

I love that Matt and Trey do not care who they offend in the pursuit of amusing themselves and a watching world. I support them with all my heart & soul right until the point where it puts me in any actual danger.

I love South Park.
I love it so much I even secretly watched the show with my kids when they were first born -- right up until the time they learned to speak well enough to rat me out to my wife.

I love Trey Parker and Matt Stone, two of the funnier and nicer guys who I've met in the business of show. How do I love them? Let me count some of the ways:

I love that they're total stand up guys with massive talent and big balls. As a result, I love everything that they've ever done, including That's My Bush! -- a show far more worthy of a rediscovery than the president who they turned into even more of a sitcom.

I love that for a cover story I wrote about them in Rolling Stone, Matt and Trey once acted out their masterful movie: South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut just for me as a rough version played on a computer. Later, for another story, they invited me on the set of Team America so that I could experience the real time torture of working with puppets. After many hours of such slow-paced fun, they even allowed me to be one of the first consenting adults to witness their film's uncut puppet sex scene - which was later cut down because some fleshy bastard at the ratings board somehow found hardcore puppet intercourse offensive. I love that Trey even wrote a blurb for my book The Showrunners in which the guys were included without reading a word.

I love that Matt and Trey do not care who they offend in the pursuit of amusing themselves and a watching world, and I support them with all my heart & soul right until the point where it puts me in any actual danger.
