A decade ago tens of viewers fell in love with NBC's fledgling football series "Friday Night Lights" (WHERE WERE YOU THEN, AMERICA?!) After five seasons of spiraling ratings and immense critical praise, the network pulled the plug, making all who knew Coach Eric Taylor and company question whether Texas really was forever, y'all.

On Friday night, however, five years after "Friday Night Lights" ended and 10 years since the show first began, the cast and crew reunited at the ATX Festival in Austin, Texas, to celebrate the legacy of a series that gave us the unforgettable rallying cry: [incoherent Lyla Garrity baby voice mumbling].

Oh, sorry, were you expecting something else?

Cast members, including Connie Britton (Tami Taylor), Gaius Charles (“Smash” Williams), Scott Porter (Jason Street), Adrianne Palicki (Tyra Collette), Matt Lauria (Luke Cafferty), Brad Leland (Buddy Garrity) and Jesse Plemons (Landry Clarke) joined executive producer Jason Katims at the very football field used to film many of the series' iconic scenes.

Fans participated in the festivities with a tailgate party and pep rally just like in the good ol' days, according to Entertainment Weekly, before a screening of the critically hailed Season 4 episode "The Son."

The cast and crew also shared memories of their time in Dillon, including how the stars were banned from playing actual football to prevent injuries and what items they stole from the set. The series' fan favorite band, Crucifictorious, helmed by Plemons, even performed at the event with a tambourine assist from Grandma Saracen, a.k.a Louanne Stephens.

But Britton, whose appearance was a surprise to many, was the star of the hour, treating fans with a signature Tami Taylor "y'all" and, of course, her magic hair.

“That was such a great character to play,” she told the audience, according to Entertainment Weekly.
