'Frozen'-Themed 'Party Drink' For Kids Is Discontinued For Obvious Reasons

"Do you want to pop some bottles?"

Love is an open door, but the door on this "Frozen"-themed "party drink" is officially closed.

Disney is discontinuing a non-alcoholic sparkling white grape drink that comes in a character-wrapped Champagne-shaped container -- complete with a cork -- after protests from parents and U.K.-based alcohol awareness groups.

Home Bargains

Mashable reports that groups including the organization Alcohol Concern felt the drink, which is advertised for "little princes and princesses across the land who want to be more sophisticated," might encourage children to experiment with alcohol.

The fizzy "Frozen" drink was sold in the U.K. by retailer Home Bargains, though it appears the same product has been available in some countries in other Disney themes as well. Home Bargains' operations director, Joe Morris, pointed out to The Sun that “The Frozen party drink is clearly labelled as a non-alcoholic soft drink."

It has since been removed from Home Bargains' website.

A Disney spokesperson told The Huffington Post that production on the drink, which is made by a company in Poland, will end in April 2016.

"As we set very high standards for the quality of products bearing the Disney name and characters, we have informed the manufacturer that we will no longer license Disney images to a product that is packaged to look like alcohol," read a statement from the company.

So, what do you think? Is Disney right to pull the product or should everyone "Let It Go?" Sound off below.
