Universal Pictures has delayed the release of “Fast & Furious 7” for almost a year following the death of Paul Walker. The studio announced early Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, that the “Fast & Furious” sequel will be released in April 2015, instead of July next year. The eighth chapter in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise just got a release date: April 14, 2017. Universal released the news during a CinemaCon presentation and then the film series posted the date on Facebook:

"We're going to make the best movie you've ever seen," Vin Diesel said during the studio's panel.

The announcement is no surprise considering "Furious 7" has already made more than $1.1 billion worldwide. It has broken box office records and became the seventh highest-grossing film of all time.
