This is just silly.

Apparently, because American gymnast Gabby Douglas didn’t place her hand on her heart during the U.S. national anthem at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics on Tuesday, people are offended. Like, really offended.

Hundreds of angry commenters posted about the moment on Twitter:

Although she should have been busy celebrating her team’s big win ― the U.S. women’s gymnastics team took home the gold ― Douglas responded to the overwhelming criticism with an apology:

If we’re being totally frank, this is the most ridiculous controversy ever. Come on, people. The girl was at the Olympics in a red, white and blue leotard, trying to bring home gold for her country. Do you REALLY think she was trying to be anti-patriotic?

Exactly.

Go home, Twitter trolls. Gabby’s done more than enough for her country.
