Gabourey Sidibe has joined the cast of "American Horror Story: Coven." Executive producer Ryan Murphy made the announcement on Twitter.

Sidibe, who was nominated for an Oscar for "Precious," spent four seasons on Showtime's "The Big C." The cast of "American Horror Story: Coven" also includes Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy and Lily Rabe.

The focus of "American Horror Story: Coven" will be ... witches. Expect to see Bates and Lange chew up the scenery.

"I wanted to see a lot of scenes of Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates going at it, so that's what you're gonna see," Murphy said at a panel for "American Horror Story" in March.
