Gaddafi Golden Gun: Pistol Taken From Dead Libya Leader After Capture In Sirte (VIDEO)

Gaddafi's Iconic Golden Gun Taken After His Death

Former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi was killed Thursday in his hometown of Sirte, after National Transitional Council (NTC) forces captured the town. He was apparently found hiding in a concrete drainage pipe.

According to the BBC, Gaddafi was reportedly killed by Mohammed al-Bibi, a young man in his 20s, who said that Gaddafi said simply "don't shoot" before the man opened fire.

Gaddafi was apparently found with a golden pistol, which was subsequently brandished by the revolutionary fighters in celebration.

Gaddafi was apparently fond of golden weapons. Rebel fighters also found a gold-plated machine gun when they looted his palace in Tripoli in August.
