Galaxy Nexus Ad Shows Off Device's Most Exciting Features

On Thursday, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the latest flagship Android smartphone, went on sale in the U.K. The handset is the first to run Android 4.0 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich) software, Google's newest major upgrade to its Android operating system. The handset and the OS debuted together at a Google-Samsung event in October.

The Galaxy Nexus, with its curved and buttonless exterior, has been praised for its good looks. CNET called the design "sharp" and the 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED Screen "gorgeous".

TechCrunch called Ice Cream Sandwich "a big step in the right direction," and that the OS made the Nexus "significantly easier to use."

In terms of hardware, the Galaxy Nexus packs a 1.2 GHZ dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 1080p video recording, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and NFC capabilities.

There's still no word on when the Galaxy Nexus will launch in the U.S., although reports have said it will be before the end of the year.

For an immediate Nexus fix, check out the newly released commercial, "Calling All," which shows off some of the device's features, such as video chat, voice-to-text, Face Unlock and more.
