
"Game of Thrones" ratings were the higher than ever on Sunday, April 14.
The third episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 3 brought 4.7 million viewers to HBO and across two plays, the series had 5.8 million viewers, according to HBO. In its final moments, the episode featured a shocking moment for a major character.
Previously, the "Game of Thrones" ratings record was 4.4 million viewers for the Season 3 premiere of "Game of Thrones" in its initial airing on March 31.
Meanwhile, the premiere of "Veep" was down slightly to 1.2 million viewers compared to the series premiere last year (1.4 million viewers).
"Game of Thrones" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and "Veep" airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on HBO.
