"Game Of Thrones" has been renewed for a fourth season, HBO has announced.
"Game Of Thrones's" renewal comes as no surprise after Season 3 debuted to series high numbers. The premiere had 4.4 million viewers on Sunday, March 31 and over three airings, the show had 6.7 million viewers total.
The Huffington Post's Maureen Ryan recently reviewed the new season and called it one of the most relatable shows on TV. Yes, even with the dragons and magic.
"It's impossible not to be drawn into the saga, however (aside from one or two strands that are filler and/or confusingly laid out). The thing is, despite the dragons, the magic, the white walkers and the arrival of wargs (look it up), 'Game of Thrones' is one of the most relatable shows on television," she said.
George R.R. Martin's book series "Game of Thrones" is based on, "A Song Of Ice And Fire," still isn't finished and Martin said he understands why fans worry the show will outpace the books.
"My dream chronology is that the books finish first, and I do have a considerable lead over them," Martin told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's true that they're moving faster than I am -- the series has its own speed -- but I don't see us catching up for another three years or so, by which time another book will be out. That should give them another two seasons of material. And while I'm writing the last book, they'd be making those."
"Game of Thrones" airs Sundays, 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
