Gavin Newsom House Sold: Former Mayor's Home Sells For $2.75 Million

That was fast.

Less than a week ago, the local blogosphere erupted in slideshows of Gavin Newsom's $2.75 million Ashbury Heights home. The four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom Masonic Avenue manse hit the market on Friday, and according to Redfin, it's been officially sold.

Check out a gallery of the property here.

The lucky buyer, still a mystery as of Thursday morning, will enjoy pristine decor, wraparound windows and a lush backyard.

Newsom recently relocated to Marin with his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and their two children. The family has shacked up at Siebel's parents' house in Ross while they search for more permanent digs. It's a homecoming of sorts, as The Huffington Post noted yesterday, as both Newsom and his wife attended high schools on the other side of the Golden Gate.

Speculations abound as to whether our former mayor will be able to maintain his post within the local Democratic County Central Committee. As SF Weekly reported, Newsom faces resistance from nemesis Aaron Peskin, former Board of Supervisors president, who insists the Gav now belongs in Marin County's party. Those following the squabble will wait with bated breath to see if Newsom shows his face at the next DCCC meeting July 27.
