London Gay Couple Allegedly Thrown Off Bus For Kissing

A gay couple in London was allegedly kicked off of a bus this week after the driver saw the pair kissing.

Jack James and his partner were reportedly riding the bus when the driver responded negatively to James' partner pecking James on the lips.

“The bus driver shouted: ‘Oi, you two, don’t do that on my fucking bus or you can get off, I don’t want to watch that,'" James told reporters. “When the bus stopped at our stop I walked up to the driver and politely asked the driver if he was talking to us. His reply was: ‘Yes, it’s my bus, it is my rules, and I don’t want to watch that. It’s disgusting. Get off the bus...' Once we got off the bus we were fuming and I was shaking. The bus stopped again and he shouted and told us we were not real men and we should fuck off.”

The pair immediately left the bus following the verbal attack.

Ken Davidson, Transport for London’s Head of Bus Operations, reportedly reassured the pair that the matter was being investigated. "All customers have the right to use our services without fear of being abused and offensive behavior is completely unacceptable," he stated.

This is certainly not the first time that a similar incident has happened to a queer couple. Last week a gay couple was allegedly ejected from a cab in Texas for kissing and informed by the driver that they were going to hell.

Additionally, a lesbian couple was told to stop kissing at a grocery store by a security guard on National Coming Out Day. The move inspired a "kiss-in" at a United Kingdom grocery store in a public display of solidarity with the women.
