Looking for a great Valentine’s date movie? Then you may want to check out the new flick, Identity Thief. As star Genesis Rodriguez told us in an exclusive interview, it’s got big laughs and a lot of heart.

“I’m so excited about Identity Thief,” she explained. “It’s such a good comedy and I’m excited for people to go out and see it!”

Featuring Bridesmaids scene-stealer Melissa McCarthy, Identity follows a man as he crisscrosses the country to track down his imposter. McCarthy is the Thief in question and seems to have made a lot of enemies during her national “crime spree.”

“I play a criminal chasing Melissa’s character,” Genesis added. “It was a lot of fun because T.I. is my partner in crime and we have a lot of funny scenes together.”

Rodriguez also gets to do some comedic sparring with Melissa, though she told us that some of their best moments got left on the cutting room floor.

“Melissa was awesome to work with, but most of our scenes got cut out,” she said. “But she is really beautiful and breaking the mold for women in comedy.”

And Genesis was quick to add that women will find a lot to like about Identity Thief. With strong female characters and some touching moments between the two leads, she believes it will make for a lot of fun come February 14.

“Identity Thief is a total Valentine’s date movie,” she added. “You and your date are going to laugh your butts off and you’re going to have a great time. This movie really does have a lot of heart.”
