George Takei Vows To Boycott Indiana If Governor Signs Religious Freedom Restoration Act

Here's The Reason George Takei Is Threatening A State-Wide Boycott

It's no secret that we're big fans of George Takei -- and statements like this make us love the "Star Trek" icon even more.

The actor and Internet sensation took to Facebook this week to voice his thoughts surrounding Indiana's proposed anti-gay Religious Freedom Restoration Act. The post is lengthy, but essentially calls for a state-wide boycott of the bill on both a personal and financial level if Gov. Mike Pence signs it into law.

The post reads:

Takei's call to action comes on the heels of Gen Con, a massive gaming convention, announcing that they will pull their event from the state if the bill is signed into law. According to Indy Star, Gen Con has an annual impact of over $50 million on the state.

In addition to Arizona, similar "religious freedom" bills have been quashed in Idaho, Kansas, South Dakota and Tennessee.
