When it's time to party, Georgia State basketball coach Ron Hunter may party just a little too hard.

Hunter injured his Achilles tendon following his team's 38-36 Sun Belt Conference tournament championship win over Georgia Southern on Sunday, ESPN reported.

To be fair, Hunter had plenty to celebrate. The victory secured Georgia State a spot in the NCAA tournament, which will be the school's first appearance since 2001. Hunter, whose son R.J. plays on the squad, said the joy of winning outweighed taking care of his foot.

"I knew when I came down that I had done it," Hunter said, noting he previously tore his tendon. "But instead of stopping right there, I wanted to go celebrate with my team. More importantly I wanted to go celebrate with my son. You don't get many opportunities like that."

Also on Hunter's team is Kevin Ware, who transferred from Louisville and suffered a gruesome leg injury while playing for the team in the 2013 tournament.

Georgia State, earning the 14th seed in the Western region, will face off against third-seeded Baylor on Thursday at the Jacksonville Veteran's Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla.

Hunter could be seen later Sunday evening with his newly bandaged foot and sitting down as Georgia State's NCAA tournament seeding was officially announced.
