Geraldo Rivera Shares Emotional On-Camera Reunion With Daughter In Paris

"It was an amazing relief just to squeeze her and to know that she was safe."

Geraldo Rivera had a major reason to worry when a series of terrorist attacks took place in Paris on Friday night. His 21-year-old daughter, Simone, is studying abroad there, and not only that, she was at the Stade de France  -- one of the locations that was attacked

"My daughter Simone told me she heard the three explosions near halftime," said Rivera in a Fox News report. "It was chaos."

On Monday, "Fox and Friends" cameras captured an emotional reunion between Geraldo and Simone. When a reporter asked how it felt to reunite with his daughter, Geraldo said he was relieved.

"It was an amazing relief just to squeeze her and to know that she was safe," said the Fox News senior correspondent.

"Of course we had exchanged text messages after a frustrating failure to communicate during the awful incident on Friday night. All I can say is that the Rivera family is tremendously relieved, but we mourn for all the other families that have suffered so much here."

Suicide bombers carried out the first of the attacks in Paris at the Stade de France at 9:20, 9:30 and 9:53 p.m. Additional attacks were carried out at a concert hall and restaurants.

At least 129 people were killed and roughly 350 people were injured, with about 80 in critical condition as of Sunday.
