Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel: Actor Believes 'Playing for Keeps' Co-star Is The One Who Got Away (REPORT)

Jessica Biel just became Jessica Timberlake, but to Gerard Butler she's reportedly "the one who got away."

RadarOnline reports that the actors, who star in next month's "Playing for Keeps," dated briefly, but the 42-year-old wasn't ready for anything serious, and now he regrets the way he treated her.

"Gerard doesn’t have many regrets but not treating Jessica with the respect she deserved while they dated is one of them," a source close to the actor told the website. "He genuinely believes she was the one that got away."

Biel allegedly began dating Butler in 2011 while they were on set -- shortly after she and pop star Justin Timberlake broke up. According to the source, the relationship fizzled because Biel, 30, was looking to settle down and Butler wasn't ready.

The relationship wasn't meant to be, and when things petered out in October 2011, Biel patched things up with Timberlake -- who wasn't about to let Biel be the one to who got away from him, either. Timberlake proposed in January, and the two tied the knot in Italy in October.
