Food is more powerful than we think it is. Have you ever noticed how your body felt after you stuffed your face with Taco Bell? How about your mind? Were you living in a heavenly state filled with peace and love? Or did you just want to go to sleep and not be active at all, waking up the next morning with a stomach ache from hell? It wasn't until after the Industrial Revolution did growing food become a corporate owned company that chose not to think about the welfare and well being of their customers, but rather make it a for profit business with no compassion or understanding.

While attending a byo-dynamics permaculture conference in the hills of Eastern Tennessee, I had the pleasure of communing with some of the most Conscious Farmers in the country. They take their food seriously, from what soil they use, to how it is harvested, to when it is served. Everything they do with food is based on one simple principle: compassion. It wasn't until after the Industrial Revolution did growing food become a corporate owned company that chose not to think about the welfare and well being of their customers, but rather make it a for-profit business with no compassion or understanding of how their products could be effecting the minds and bodies of all who eat their product.

I live in Portland, Oregon, one of the most progressive states in the U.S. Every grocery store you go in to there is a health food, locally-grown section for people who actually care about what's going in to their body. To me, this is progress and I am seeing it more and more as humanity chooses to wake up from the illusion of separation from the Earth and what they put in their bodies.

I say we take this a step further... why not get together with your local neighborhood association and derive a plan to use the lawns of each home to grow one crop in bulk?

This means once first harvest comes, and continues all the families in the neighborhood would be eating for FREE. This is a revolutionary idea for the times we live in, and could actually liberate us all from this broken system we so blindly rely on. We would step back into principles of Oneness, by communing with the people we live around and sharing the value of food with one another.

Food is the most basic way to connect with the Earth and one another, wouldn't you say it's time we all wake up and smell the tomatoes in our own yard? It's so silly how we run around town getting everything we need to make meals when we can be utilizing the land in our front yards to create Infinite Abundance for the Whole.

The choice seems simple to me, how about you?
