I was listening to the song "Shut Up and Dance" while driving and I felt uncomfortable all of a sudden. Because I actually know people that would be uncomfortable listening to this song because it says "shut up" and those words are offensive to them.

I was scrolling through Facebook, reading comments on news stories. There was one news story about a funny panda at a zoo. One person was so offended by the fact that the panda was locked up, that they probably missed the entire point of the story.

Are you kidding me?

Honestly, stop getting your panties in a wad. Get the hell over it.

Does the word "hell" offend you? Does the word "panties" seem sexist? Then you are missing quite literally the whole point.

We as people have become so offended by virtually everything, that we now look for ways to be offended. Whether it's saying "Merry Christmas" or praying in a classroom, we are equipped and ready to have our delicate souls be hurt. If someone is politically incorrect and says "policeman" instead of "police officer," you can count on it that there are some panties starting to wad up somewhere.

Here's a question. Since when did someone have to have the same opinion as you or do what you do in order for you to sleep soundly at night?

Someone prayed in class. So what? Their praying is not hurting you, so move on. And if you say it's emotionally hurting you, then please grow a pair. Yes, grow a pair is offensive and sexist.

But honest to goodness people, toughen up and stop acting like a little girl.

If the Bible offends you, that's a good thing. That means you're have conviction. You have a conscience. There are morals in this world. And if this statement offends you because you don't believe in the Bible, then ignore it and move on.

Allow people to have a different opinion than you and allow yourself to be still be able to function as a person and move on with your day. Somewhere along the line we stumbled upon this imaginary view of the world where we believe everything and everyone ought to walk on eggshells to make sure we are not offended. Our society is literally head over heels in love with being offended.

If you don't like the drink, don't drink it. If you don't like someone's opinion, don't listen to it.

Here's a few offensive truths for you:

You and I don't have to agree with each other for you to be able to sleep well at night.

I can say something sexist and you can still function as a grown up.

I can say "Merry Christmas" and you can still have a happy holiday.

I can say "stop acting like a little girl" and you can still go on breathing.

So let's all start focusing more on our own opinions, forming intelligent views of the world, and developing tolerance for others than on desperately seeking ways for someone to offend you.
