Giada De Laurentiis stopped by HuffPost Live on Tuesday to talk holiday cooking and staying stress-free in the kitchen. That's great and all, but we at HuffPost Food were more interested in her thoughts on all her cohorts and other TV chefs. Somehow, she manages to stay quite sweet when she explains that she thinks Anthony Bourdain has a "beef with everyone."
She's ever the diplomat, explaining that chef feuds often stem from the idea that "every chef -- like everybody on this planet -- has their own view of food...Sometimes they get so passionate that it trickles into different parts of their lives."
Giada also chooses wisely when asked what chef she would want to cook her dinner. She picks Thomas Keller, a choice no one can argue with.
Perhaps inevitably, host Abby Huntsman is quick to ask Giada about Guy Fieri. "I've actually had Guy Fieri's food," says Giada. "If you're going to Guy Fieri's restaurant and you want to get Thomas Keller-style food, you're not going to get that. It's not what he's about."
She does seem a bit reluctant to discuss the firestorm of criticism that's recently been directed at Guy. "I've eaten there. It's good basic home cooking, home food and I think people that go there are looking for that type of food." She hesitates a little and adds, "I think he has some really great stuff on his menu and some stuff I like. It's a place to bring your family."
