Gilbert Arenas OUT FOR SEASON: Suspension Ends Arenas' Year

Gilbert Arenas will be suspended for the remainder of the season, according to the Washington Post. The Post reports that Arenas asked for the suspension.

If the suspension goes through as reported, its 50 games will amount to the third-longest in NBA history.

The Wizards guard was suspended indefinitely earlier in the month following reports that he drew a gun on a teammate in the Wizards locker room. He pleaded guilty to a felony gun charge on January 14.

On Monday Wizards guard Javaris Crittenton pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge stemming from the same locker room incident. According to one report, Crittenton loaded his gun and chambered a bullet during his dispute with Arenas.

Update: Crittenton has also been suspended for the remainder of the season.

Adidas ended its endorsement deal with Arenas after his suspension, although he is still welcome to pose shirtless for PETA.
