Gillian Anderson Reveals Why She Can't Even Watch 'Hannibal'

'Hannibal' Is Too Gruesome For Some Of Its Cast

Gillian Anderson said what we were all thinking when she appeared on HuffPost Live. Sometimes "Hannibal" is too gruesome for her to watch.

"The X-Files" star plays Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, Hannibal's psychiatrist, on the NBC drama. "Hannibal" may be one of the most violent shows on network TV these days, but its stark imagery coupled with executive producer Bryan Fuller's touch makes for a haunting watch. If only we (Anderson included) could stomach all the blood.

"Hannibal" airs Friday at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
