WATCH: Girl With Cerebral Palsy Dances Without Walker For First Time

Taylor may need a walker to get around, but that doesn't stop her from dancing.

The 6 year-old girl, who has cerebral palsy, dances with a little help from her mom, Dana Florence, and the assistance of a new invention. In a video posted to YouTube on Sunday, Taylor busts a move without a walker for the first time to her favorite song, Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble."

"It was so beautiful," Florence told The Huffington Post, adding that Taylor was able to "move in ways that she never moved before," such as side-to-side and forward and back.

The special first is possible thanks to the Firefly Upsee, a creation by another mother who has a child with cerebral palsy. The device works much like how an adult would lead a child in a dance -- by placing the kid's feet on top of their own. However, instead of a parent and child facing each other, the Upsee positions the child the opposite way, so the little one is facing forward with his or her feet planted in between an adult's legs.

Florence, co-founder and executive director of Three To Be -- a Toronto-based charitable foundation that aims to help children with neurological disorders -- received a trial version of Upsee to try out with her triplets, all of whom have cerebral palsy.

Parents of children with cerebral palsy can wear the device and strap their kids in so that they can move in sync. The kids may even be able to show off their dance skills, as Taylor does in the video.

"We were all blown away by how well she did with it," Florence told HuffPost, adding that she plans to bring Upsee to their weekly dance classes. "It was really a new experience for her, and for me as a mom."
