Get ready to ring in the new year with second seasons of "Girls" and "Enlightened" on HBO.

The network has given the official word that the shows will return in January 2013, each 10 episodes long.

"Girls," starring Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet and Jemima Krike, centers on the lives of 20-something girls living and working (or at least attempting to) in New York City. The series earned 5 Emmy nods in the Outstanding Comedy series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series categories.

"Enlightened" stars Laura Dern and Mike White, who also executive produce the show. The show focuses on a woman (Dern) who returns to her life as an executive at a global conglomerate after an embarrassing public meltdown. Dern received a 2012 Golden Globe for her performance on the HBO comedy.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this article stated the "Enlightened" star was named Matt White. Mike White is his correct name.
