'Girls' Season 2: Patrick Wilson To Play Lena Dunham's Love Interest

Meet Hannah's New Love Interest On 'Girls'

So long, Adam: Hannah has a new guy. Hopefully, he won't treat her heart like monkey meat.

According to TVLine, Patrick Wilson has signed on to play Hannah's love interest on Season 2 of HBO's "Girls." Wilson will play Joshua, a forty-something doctor who lives next door to Hannah.

This isn't the first time Wilson has played a doctor. The "Watchmen" actor appeared in CBS' ill-fated medical drama "A Gifted Man," which was canceled in May. "So...shocking to no one: #agiftedman is done," Wilson tweeted when he heard the news. "Found out via email...and not from the network.Stay classy. Thanks to AGM fans! Great cast/crew!"

But what does this mean for Hannah's hook-up buddy-turned-boyfriend, Adam? In an recent interview with Rolling Stone, actor Adam Driver was uncertain of his character's fate. "I don't know what happens," he said. "I trust what Lena and the writers come up with; it's more exciting that way."

"Girls" Season 2 will air in 2013.
