Gisele's Chanel Beauty Ad Is Pretty... Safe (VIDEO)

We learned last month that Gisele Bundchen is the new face of Chanel's Les Beiges campaign. The Brazilian-born beauty is an effortless fit for Healthy Glow Sheer Powder, a bronzer Chanel developed to mimic the radiant look from a day spent outdoors.

We loved the print campaign, shot by Mario Testino, and now Chanel's debuted a short film that features Gisele putting the powder to action. In the 20-second spot, Gisele applies the pressed powder and frolics down a street, fresh-faced and smiling.

"Natural is a style," Chanel declares, billing Les Beiges bronzer as "simple and intuitive." We can't think of anyone who encapsulates that ethos better than Gisele.

A far cry from Brad Pitt's heavily mocked ad for the brand, Gisele's video is pretty -- pretty safe. Has Chanel redeemed itself by taking this tame new direction?
