Giselle Achecar, EcoRico Chef, Shares Recipes For Mojitos And Six-Aphrodisiac Salad (VIDEO)

WATCH: Learn To Make 'Six-Aphrodisiac Salad' To Go With Your Mojitos

The right foods can excite the senses, stimulate the libido and increase stamina (Yay!). Foods high in vitamins A, B6, C and E, along with zinc and potassium are great for increasing blood flow (particularly to the genitals) and maintaining healthy sex hormone production. This Six-Aphrodisiac Salad will do just that! Watch me make it then wash it down with amazing mojitos. More fun that way.

Loaded with chlorophyll, arugula cleanses and energizes the blood, bringing oxygen to the body. This member of the mustard family aids digestion. Vitamins P and K aid liver function. Clean blood rich in oxygen clears the mind.

The avocado leads all other fruits in beta-carotene and exceeds the banana in potassium. Half a cup of pureed avocado contains 729 mg of potassium! It contains more protein, potassium, magnesium, folic acid, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, biotin, pantothenic acid, vitamin E, and vitamin K per ounce than any other fruit. Moreover, avocado enhances the absorption of phytonutrients in carotenoid-rich fruits and vegetables, such as, you guessed it, bell peppers.

Known to Native Americans as the Viagra of their day, pine nuts are a zinc powerhouse and testosterone booster. Since medieval times, men have eaten pine nuts to increase sexual stamina. What's more, pine nuts are an effective brain food due to their high level of boron. These seeds help increase cardiovascular function, which, when combined with increased testosterone production, yields exciting results!

The "honeymoon" didn't get its name in a vacuum. Many medicines in Egyptian times were based on honey, including cures for sterility and impotence. Medieval seducers plied their partners with Mead, a fermented drink made from honey, to "sweeten" the marriage. Honey is a great energy boost.

Without further ado... my quick and simple recipe for a lovely, heat-inducing salad.

GISELLE'S SIX-APHRODISIAC SALAD
Arugula, avocado, red pepper, toasted pine nuts with honey, lemon, garlic dressing

Salad
  • As with all ingredients, please buy organic, locally grown produce. If you can’t find organic, try your best to buy local.
  • One bag of organic baby arugula
  • One large red bell pepper
  • Two medium or one large avocado (I usually use more!)
  • Half a cup of toasted pine nuts (you can use raw, but I like CRUNCH!)
Pine Nuts
  • Toasting pine nuts is simple and fun. You have two choices.
  • Oven: Spread the raw pine nuts on a baking sheet and toast for 8-10 minutes at 350° til slightly golden.
  • Stovetop: Put raw pine nuts in non-stick sauté pan, toast over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
Honey, Lemon, Garlic Dressing
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Honey
  • One organic lemon
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Sea salt
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • In bowl, pour extra virgin olive oil, garlic, the juice of 1/2 the lemon, honey, sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.
  • Mix it well. Taste and make adjustments!! Use the other half lemon as needed.

Pour dressing over salad. Toss. Light some candles, sit back and enjoy this deliciousness!
