I haven't quite been able to wrap my head around the concept of heel-less shoes. Maybe because I keep envisioning myself tumbling down stairs and tripping over cracks in the sidewalk like Lady Gaga. But this hasn't deterred designers from churning out more heel-less footwear.
Inspired by African details and '70s shapes, Italian shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti's spring 2012 collection included a pair of open-toe platform booties (pictured below) that have already been spotted on pop stars Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger.
Brooklyn, New York-based manicurist Colleen Campbell was challenged by one of her Giuseppe-wearing clients to mimic the tribal print on her nails. The results? Amazing. And easier to wear than the shoes, in my opinion.

To get this look, file nails into an almond shape and apply a base coat. Then paint on Essie Jazz (a creamy beige-taupe). Once dry, recreate the tribal and dancing ribbon prints by using Kiss Brush-On Nail Art Paint in black. This nail polish includes a thin striping brush which allows for better control. To finish, seal the manicure with a shiny top coat and smooth on cuticle oil.
