Giving Tuesday Feels Much Better Than Your Black Friday, Doesn't It? (LIVEBLOG: WAYS TO GIVE)

After emptying their wallets on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, consumers can now put their money where their hearts are.

December 2 marks the third annual Giving Tuesday, the philanthropic campaign that concludes two of the year’s biggest shopping events with some selflessness.

Established by the United Nations Foundation and the 92nd Street Y, the initiative connects donors with nonprofits and awareness campaigns that have set some pretty sizable goals for such a young mission.

But considering that Giving Tuesday has already impressed President Obama and raised $19.2 million last year -- a 90 percent increase from 2012 -- there’s a good chance those ambitious goals will be met.

Giving Tuesday has connected with more than 18,000 partners in the U.S., and thousands more worldwide.

The Avon Foundation for Women, for example, has partnered with the National Domestic Violence Hotline this year to raise $1 million to support domestic violence groups. The #UNselfie campaign urges supporters to show off their best duck lips and giving strategies on social media.

Find out how you can get involved in your neighborhood here and learn more about some notable Giving Tuesday highlights in our liveblog that will be updated throughout the day.
