'Glitter Lung' Documentary Reveals The (Very Sparkly) Dark Side of Burlesque Dancing

WATCH: The Dark Side Of Burlesque Dancing

Lint rollers, frequent trips to Michaels, obsessive vacuuming -- these are the telltale signs that you're addicted to glitter.

But do you fully grasp the risks you're running?

When a very reputable source (The Onion) first reported on the dangers of "glitter lung" in 2005, we were made aware of this occupational hazard for elementary school art teachers.

Thanks to San Francisco's burlesque group Hubba Hubba Revue, however, now we understand just how far-reaching the grisly effects of those innocent-looking particles can be.

Watch three burlesque dancers shine a very sparkly light on how glitter has affected their lives and the dancing community in this very seriously eye-opening documentary, filmed in Oakland, Calif.

If you or someone you know has been affected by glitter lung, seek out the Healing Und Breathing Burlesque Association (HUBBA) for help. You are not alone.
