Now Even Online Dating Is Gluten Free

Gluten-Free And Single? You're In Luck

Niche online dating sites are becoming more and more popular, and the latest one is perfect for foodies who are serious about their dietary restrictions.

Marcella Romaya, the co-founder of GlutenfreeSingles, a new dating site that allows gluten-free individuals to connect with one another, joined HuffPost Live on Monday to discuss the motivation behind creating the site.

Romaya explained to HuffPost Live's Ricky Camilleri that she felt the gluten-free community was having a difficult time finding like-minded people.

"After doing some research and... trying to find a dating site, we found nothing," Romaya said. "So we found there was a need for gluten-free people to connect and to spread awareness about celiac disease."

"We want the gluten-free community to have the opportunity for a successful relationship," she added.

Romaya said it is much easier when you're dating someone with the same dietary restrictions because it enables you to focus on your connection.

"When you meet someone who is gluten-free and you’re dating them, it’s so much easier," she said. "You understand each other, you can order the same foods, same meal, you can share the same meal, and basically your gluten issue, the food issue, is just brushed under the table and you can focus on your chemistry."
