'Go On' Ratings Pop Thanks To 'The Voice'; All NBC Shows Up

Hey, People Are Watching NBC Again

Viewers have found NBC's programming -- like "Go On," whose ratings were way up -- again thanks to "The Voice."

"The Voice" was down compared to its season premiere on Monday, March 25, but still way better than NBC's programming for the last four months. A total of 12 million viewers tuned in for another round of blind auditions and the telecast had a 3.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This helped struggling comedies "Go On" and "The New Normal" attract bigger audiences than they've had in months. "The Voice" even helped "Smash" out ... a bit.

At 9 p.m. ET, "Go On," which featured Matthew Perry reuniting with his "Friends" co-star Courteney Cox, had 5.6 million viewers, up 97 percent in week-to-week viewers. The episode had a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 110 percent. Cox's appearance likely helped "Go On's" numbers. At 9:30 p.m. ET, "The New Normal had 3.6 million viewers and a 1.4 rating. It was up 100 percent in the 18-49 demo (last week it had 0.7) and 70 percent in total viewers (last week it had 2.1 million viewers).

Meanwhile, the struggling "Smash" had a 1.0 rating and 3.1 million viewers. It was up 43 percent in the 18-49 demo and 17 percent in total viewers.

The surge was expected and the real test for NBC will be whether they can maintain the numbers.
