It may be after Labor Day but "goshdarn" its hot out there! Its as hot as ......well...HELL!

I saw this flag waving in the hot city wind and it was welcoming. It could not have been more welcoming if it said " free ice cream " but yet I thought it was clever nontheless.

WHY you ask?

It is well known that Catholic services run about 45 minutes to 1 hour and this is a very long time to sit in a stifling church with no air and no AC.

It seems that this 'cool' church has a marketing person within its walls and is hoping to attract more business in the summer heat with the added plus of Air conditioning.

Afterall, why go to a NYC 'cooling center' when you can go to church?

It certainly caught my attention and I think its great for all who attend mass and give mass...

yet the cynic in me wonders...is this a way to reach a wider audience or merely keep your flock cool and coming in??

Oy Vey, I just don't know but should I find myself in that area of the city again on a hot humid day I may just pop in, cool down and feel better for doing so...
