My faith plays a part in everything I do on and off the court. From coming early to practice to taking extra shots or staying afterwards to work on my free throws -- my faith inspires me to work harder and harder each day.

The Tulsa Shock will once again invite and embrace the local faith-based community when we take on the Seattle Storm on September 2nd in our second annual Faith and Family Night at the BOK Center.

Faith and Family Night is an opportunity for individuals of all faiths to come together and experience a Women's National Basketball Game; unite to connect two things that are dearest to my heart -- faith and basketball.

As a child growing up, my family realized I was different from everyone else. They soon noticed my God-given talent was basketball and from that point on my journey began.

With my family's encouragement, I continued to play and ultimately received a scholarship from the University of Texas - Austin. While acclaiming various accomplishments through basketball, I would like to thank God for all He has done for my family and me.

If it weren't for Him I wouldn't have the opportunity to inspire people with my play, do what I love for a living, and at the end of the day, share my faith on such a large stage.

My mental preparation for the game stems from my faith and my inspiration to get better is my family. Faith and Family Night is an opportunity for me to share my motivations with all of our loyal fans.

Not only do family and faith go hand in hand but also they mean everything to me and without them, I don't know where I would be.

Faith is meant to be shared, discussed and enjoyed together with as many people as possible and I'm proud to be part of a league and organization that expresses what my inner motivations on a national stage.
