"Good Morning America" Gets New Afternoon Hour For Summer 2012

'Good Morning America' Makes Big Announcement

"Good Morning America" is getting a new hour-long show in the afternoons this summer.

Deadline broke the news on Wednesday. The extra hour will broadcast at 2 p.m. E/T, and replace "The Revolution." The announcement came with the news that "The Revolution" will be canceled, while "General Hospital" has been renewed.

TVNewser reports that Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer will likely co-host the program, though an ABC News spokesperson declined to confirm.

The extra hour of "GMA" will run for nine weeks, from July 9 until Katie Couric's syndicated talk show premieres in September. The program, which is tentatively titled "GMA In The Afternoon," will be flanked by "The Chew" and "General Hospital."
