Some lessons I am taking out of today...

  1. I know what kind of world I want to live in. And what kind of people I am willing to share my precious time with.

  2. "When they go low, we'll go high." A great quote I am going to try to integrate into my life.

  3. We have learned something important today. Despite the obvious sexist and racist horrors of past history, it's the quiet bigotry and subtle misogyny that allows bad people to gain power. It's not ok to stay silent on these issues. It's not ok to laugh uncomfortably. This has become so very clear. And I believe people will now react. I really do. Ok I’m somewhat trembling in my coffee-haze worry about this. But I have to believe.

  4. Our children are watching. And fortunately, the next generation is already way ahead of us. The statistics show that if only millennials had voted, the election would have been quite different. We now see clearly the importance of education. And I don’t mean just math and literacy. The future generation is increasingly made up of critical thinkers, people who have opinions, who consider all options and never blindly follow one mindset. What we teach our children now does form the future. They are watching and they are waiting their turn.
