Google's Santa Tracker Is Like The NSA If It Were Awesome

Tech already has its tablet wars, smartphone wars and patent wars. Now we've got a Santa war.

Google has revamped its Santa tracker this year to compete with Microsoft's NORAD Santa tracker, and it's pretty darn adorable.

When Santa embarks on his flight around the globe on Dec. 25, Google Maps will track it, while teaching you a bit about his various destinations. Google reportedly is also releasing a Santa tracking app for Android later in the month.

In the meantime, Google's Santa Tracker page lets you explore Santa's village and play with an online advent calendar that every day reveals a new holiday-themed video, animation or game.

In one game, you drive Santa's sleigh down a race track, picking up presents as you go. In a video, one of Santa's reindeer attempts to contact Santa, who is vacationing on the beach. Turns out Santa has a smartphone. Android, probably.
