Belgian-Australian singer Gotye says he will gladly accept a ticket to One Hit Wonderland.

His hit single "Somebody That I Used To Know" saturated the airways this year, even taking the title of the year's longest running No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

But that success hasn't been enough to shake the doubt of some listeners who feel he is destined for a spot in the not-so-elite class of one-time chart toppers. Gotye isn't phased by the low expectations, though, telling NME Magazine he would "take a sort of perverse pleasure if a certain part of the public think of me as a one hit wonder."

He went on to say if he never releases another smash single, he thinks the division between his brief moment in the pop spotlight and all of the other music he has created will still "be kind of interesting."

"Somebody That I Used to Know" reached number one in 12 countries and has sold over 7 million copies worldwide. It was also recognized as the most tagged song by the song detection service Shazam.

Gotye, whose real name is Wally De Becker, told ABC News Radio that the song was inspired by several different memories from his past relationships and he credits the eye-catching music video for adding to the track's success.

"People seemed to respond to the whole package, I guess, the video feels like it enhances for them already a very potent song," he said.
