While most of the world knows (and worships) Grace Kelly as a gorgeous starlet, a fashion icon and, of course, the Princess of Monaco since the age of 26, fewer know her as a Philly girl who never lost touch with her roots.
This October, Pennsylvania's Michener Museum will be the first US institution to host a Kelly-centric exhibition, examining the letters, photographs, awards, fashion, film clips, playbills and home movies from the embodiment of elegance herself. The long-anticipated survey will capture Kelly not just as a public persona but as a loving mother, a humanitarian and a diehard fan of "Philadelphia scrapple."

A pretty convincing argument, no?
"I hope that through experiencing this exhibition you will be able to get a glimpse of the real Grace Kelly, the woman behind the icon, my mother," Prince Albert II, Kelly's son, told the Associated Press.
"From Philadelphia to Monaco: GRACE KELLY Beyond the Icon" runs from October 28, 2013 until January 26, 2014 at the Michener Museum.
