Jean-Georges Vongerichten is a chef known for his take on both classic French cuisine and Asian flavors. But the three Michelin star chef of his eponymous restaurant didn't grow up cooking - instead he was immersed in his Alsatian roots and only after being taught French techniques did he embark on years in Asia that would prove life-changing.

We sat down with the chef to discuss his inspirations and then he teaches a green curry that is based on his years in Thailand - but still with his own signature flair.
