Green Line Heat-Kink Repairs Made, Full Service Restored

Heat-Kink Repairs Shutter Rail Line

WASHINGTON -- Full service on the heat-kink damaged Green Line was restored Monday after Metro repaired a 1,000-foot section of track that had buckled Friday near the West Hyattsville station in Maryland's Prince George's County.

The last three cars of a D.C.-bound train derailed Friday. Fifty-five passengers were successfully evacuated, according to Patch.

Service was suspended between the Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza stations through the weekend as the transit agency made repairs.
