Greg Abbott Wins Texas Governor Race Against Wendy Davis

Republican Greg Abbott was elected as the next governor of Texas in Tuesday's midterm elections.

Abbott has served as Texas' Attorney General since 2002, and before that, served on the Lone Star State's Supreme Court.

Davis is a Texas state Senator who rose to prominence in June 2013 when she attempted to filibuster a controversial abortion bill.
