Greta Van Susteren: Press Is 'Modified Petting Zoo' On Romney Overseas Trip

Fox News Host Calls Romney Out Over Press Access

Greta Van Susteren called Mitt Romney out over press access in Poland on Monday.

The Fox News host is covering him on his overseas trip to London, Israel and Poland. ABC News' David Muir, NBC News' Peter Alexander, CNN's Jim Acostas and CBS News' Jan Crawford are also covering the candidate. Romney sat down with Van Susteren for an interview in Jerusaleum, the first part of which airs Monday night.

In a blog post entitled "Notes from travel with Gov Romney in Poland," Van Susteren aired some grievances about the campaign's treatment of the press. She wrote:

There has been no press access to Governor Romney since we landed in Poland. We (press) are in a holding pattern (I can’t help but feel a bit like the press is a modified petting zoo since we are trapped in a bus while Polish citizens take pictures of us.) Under the headline “Governor Romney won’t like this” we saw a big sign in the crowd for Rep Ron Paul.

Romney has been criticized for keeping reporters at bay both on the trip and at home. Most recently, he came under fire for attempting to bar press from an Israeli fundraiser. His campaign later reversed the decision, announcing that reporters would be allowed to cover his remarks.
