If Andrew Garfield doesn’t already make you swoon, wait until you see “Hacksaw Ridge.” In the Mel Gibson–directed film, Garfield plays Desmond Doss, a conscientious objector who enlisted as a World War II medic despite his refusal to kill enemy soldiers. Doss saved the lives of many of his comrades in battle and was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism.
