Hal Rogers Wins Midterm Election Race Against Kenneth Stepp

Hal Rogers Wins Midterm Election

Rep. Hal Rogers (R-Ky.) was projected to defeat Democrat Kenneth Stepp in the state's 5th Congressional District on Tuesday.

Rogers is the longest serving Kentucky Republican ever elected to office, assuming his first term in January of 1981. He previously worked as an attorney in Kentucky. In Congress, Rogers chairs the powerful House Appropriations Committee where he has focused on national security issues.

Stepp, who works as an attorney, faced slim chances in defeating the long-serving incumbent.
